In addition to delivering one dedicated national sales force selling to all book accounts across the U.S., Continental provides convenient service and support on many levels.
The main office in Chicago maintains daily communications with all regional offices, tracks all orders received, and issues weekly sales reports. Commission payments are sent to Chicago and disbursements are then made to the regional offices. To make the business of conducting business far more efficient, publishers benefit by dealing with one office on a day-to-day basis.
Sales meetings are centralized and convenient. Twice a year, the entire Continental Sales force meets in New York City to enable client publishers to present their new lists directly to the sales representatives. In addition spring conferences are held in New York City and in the BEA host city, as a convenience for vendors who attend the show. This presents an opportunity for an exchange of ideas, to discuss sales opportunities and emerging trends in the market, to formulate projections and to assess recent title performance.
